Frequently Asked Questions

The basics of pricing, buying, selling, and trading.

Where do prices come from?
Market prices are sourced from Card Hedge and refreshed continuously. Low/high ranges reflect recent sales data; they are estimates, not guarantees.
How do I sell a card?
Go to Portfolio → Sell, search the catalog for your card, set a price, and list it. Buyers can purchase outright or send offers if you allow them.
What fees does GEMLINE charge?
Listing is free. When your card sells, GEMLINE keeps just 5% on your first five sales and 7.5% from your sixth sale on, you receive the rest, and the sell flow shows your exact net payout before you list. Buyers pay the listed price.
What is the Deal Finder?
The Deal Finder is GEMLINE Pro’s deal desk: cards priced below their fair market value with the marketplace fee already counted, a 0–100 GEMLINE Score on every deal, live underpriced listings cross-checked against eBay, email deal alerts, and a public track record of how flagged deals performed. GEMLINE Pro is $7.99/month after a 7-day free trial.
How do live auctions work?
Sellers list a card with a starting bid and duration. Buyers bid in real time on the Live floor; the highest bid at close wins.
How does escrow protect me?
Every sale runs through escrow: the buyer’s payment is held by Stripe, the seller ships with tracking, and the payout only releases when the buyer confirms the card arrived as described. Neither side can run off with the other’s end of the deal.
When do I get paid after a sale?
Your payout (sale price minus GEMLINE’s fee. 5% on your first five sales, 7.5% after) releases when the buyer confirms receipt, or automatically when the inspection window lapses. If a dispute is opened, the payout stays frozen until it’s resolved.
Who pays for shipping?
Sellers ship directly to buyers and cover shipping, build it into your price. Always ship with tracking; you’ll enter the tracking number on the order, and the buyer sees it instantly.
What if the card arrives damaged or not as described?
Use “Report a problem” on the order. That opens a dispute, freezes the seller’s payout, and puts GEMLINE’s team on it. Refunds go back to your original payment method.
How do I know a card is real?
Sellers verify cards before listing, by scanning the physical slab or submitting its grading cert number, and verified listings carry a ✓ badge. Combined with escrow, you never pay for a card that doesn’t show up as described.
Can I cancel an order?
Before shipment, buyers can request cancellation (the seller approves) and sellers can cancel outright. The buyer’s payment hold is released in full, no money moves.
